People who are thinking about laser vision correction, have had LASIK or PRK, or are concerned about corneal disease such as keratoconus, can benefit from a map of the front surface of the eye –a corneal topography. This machine can also be used to assess the tear film on the front surface of the eye and help us monitor/manage dry eye disease and is useful in designing specialty contact lenses such as rigid gas permeable lenses, scleral lenses and orthokeratology lenses.
